It’s Normal to Have Strong Urges For Your Old Habits
It’s only natural that you will have strong urges because you spent your entire life eating cooked foods and possibly much of your life drinking alcohol and soda pops. Eating cooked foods is an extremely deep-rooted habit and alcohol and sodas, for many, is even a part of their daily lives.
It is clear that there will be challenges, but you also need to know that they can be overcome with motivation, planning and a good support system.
Urges Are Strong But They Don’t Last Long
One thing I discovered from quitting smoking and drinking alcohol is that while those kinds of urges may be strong, they only last a few minutes at a time. The key is to get through each short-lived urge without giving in and you’ll find that your mind will automatically wander to something else. In the beginning, the urges are stronger and more frequent, but with time, they become weaker and less frequent, eventually disappearing.
Because urges for eating are driven by both habit and actual hunger sensations from your stomach and brain, those urges will be stronger and will last longer. It is, therefore, important to satisfy the feeling of hunger with only raw foods. They will satisfy your hunger and within 10 to 15 minutes after eating, your urge will begin to go away. You may still have some desire for certain cooked food dishes, but that too will soon disappear.

Make Your Plan
For the first two weeks, keep your focus only on eating raw foods and physical exercise. It’s best to start Raw Mind Fitness only after your mind is fueled and fertilized by at least two weeks of eating raw foods and physical exercise. Your mind will then be ready and open for the next incredible journey in store for you. You will also be busy the first two weeks adjusting to your new schedule and will need the extra time reading and preparing for Raw Mind Fitness.
Pick a day when you will start and prepare for that day. Get a very large calendar and hang it in clear sight where you will always see it. Write down what you plan to eat for each day of the week. Write down your body and mind exercise plan. Write down the time you are going to exercise. Write what food you actually ate and what exercises you did and for how long. How did you feel after each meal? How did you feel after each exercise? Write it all down where you can see it. The bigger it is, the better it will serve you!
If you need a larger space for each calendar day, write each day on a sheet of regular letter paper and place them in plain sight on a wall where the days are in order like a calendar. Again, keep this calendar where you will always see it and remember, the bigger your calendar is, the better it will work for you!

Organize your food shopping and preparation into your schedule. Make sure you can comfortably shop for and prepare your food and juices on a realistic schedule. This all takes some effort, but it is worth it and will fall into place very quickly. Get rid of all of your processed food. Throw out canned foods and any food that is not live and fresh. Clean out your kitchen and your refrigerator so there is no temptation. Get rid of your alcoholic beverages, sodas and sugary drinks. Make your shopping list for the market and stock up your kitchen with a wide variety of fresh, organic, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, legumes and grains.
Stop and Think BEFORE You Put That Bite or Sip In Your Mouth

Always think about every bite or sip before you put it in your mouth! Think before you order that food or before you order that drink. Think about what it’s going to do to your body and brain. Think about it. Don’t ignore your urge and just give in without thinking first. Face it and control it. The price of not thinking is too high.

Affirmations

By repeatedly speaking your affirmations to yourself throughout the day, you will create strong beliefs in your subconscious mind that will eventually change your behavior. That’s right! You can change your behavior IF YOU WANT TO.
Write your affirmations and print them out so you can repeat them frequently. “I can!”. “I think before I eat or drink!”. “I only drink things that are healthy for me!”. “I only eat food that is good for me!”. “I am strong!”. “I succeed at everything I do!”. “I am the best version of me I can be!”.
It’s important to know that your affirmations should always be positive and never include any negative words like “no” or “never” or “not” or “negative”. For example, instead of saying, “I don’t eat cooked foods!”, say, “I only eat foods that are uncooked and healthy for me!”. Another example is, instead of saying, “I don’t drink alcohol!”, say, “I only drink things that are healthy for me!”. For someone wanting to quit smoking, they should say, “I only breathe pure, clean, healthy air into my lungs!”.
Another fact about your subconscious is that it does not know tense. It does not know what the past was and it does not know what the future is. It only knows “now”. So always keep your affirmations in the positive and in the now.

Don’t Beat Yourself Up…..Build Yourself Up
It’s very difficult to eat only raw foods all of the time. Most of the world centers around cooked foods and they are everywhere you look. Nobody is perfect and we all give in to urges sometimes. If you do give in to an urge, don’t feel guilty and beat yourself up. Instead, enjoy your meal and remind yourself that you are just learning and that you are now getting back on track. Even though you already know this, you need to be reminded over and over that alcohol lowers everyone’s self-control and makes it more difficult to control your urges. Alcohol weakens your will power and will cause failure. That’s another great reason not to drink. If that isn’t enough, alcohol can permanently damage your brain, your liver, your kidneys and other body functions if you drink too much.
