The Raw Food Kitchen
You can make fantastic raw food meals with only a sharp knife and a cutting board, but if you have the right equipment, you will save valuable time and also be able to create countless wonderful basic and gourmet dishes.
I have found that a good, solid set of really sharp knives and at least two solid, large cutting boards are the absolute minimal requirement for making raw foods.
A good juicer is another great tool to have so you can enjoy the benefits of powerful vegetable or fruit drinks. Try to pick one that is solid and relatively easy to clean. A good juicer is expensive and can cost close to a couple of hundred dollars. I bought a Breville and it has served me very well for the past six months of intense use.
A strong and durable blender is also a basic tool you will want in your kitchen so you can make fruit smoothies and other recipes you will quickly want to create. Prices for blenders can range anywhere from $40.00 to $500. The more
expensive ones do actually deliver better results and also last longer, but I have found that almost all of them will do the job.
Since any heat over 116 degrees must be avoided, it will be helpful to have a dehydrator that will allow you to heat certain foods at very low temperatures. A dehydrator will cost anywhere from $100 to $200.
